Kiwassa Neighbourhood House

Parking
There is free short-term street parking available for dropping off and picking up participants, as well as longer-term street parking nearby.
There is designated accessible parking on the lower level of Kiwassa Neighbourhood House, with a curb ramp and access to the elevator.
Entrances & Exits
There is a ramp and staircase from the sidewalk to the front entrance of Kiwassa Neighbourhood House.
At the main entrance, there is a button to open the door as well as a bell to call for assistance. Front desk staff can assist people to exit through the front doors.
Exit doors can be pushed open with bars or lever handles. Staff are available to help people open doors inside the building, as needed.
Indoor Access: Elevator, Stair Lift & Doors
Participants may access all levels of Kiwassa Neighbourhood House by elevator or stair lift, as well as staircases.

Washrooms
There is one single-stall all-gender, wheelchair-accessible washroom.
There are also multi-stall men’s and women’s washrooms, each with a wheelchair-accessible stall.
Scents & EMF Sensitivities
We encourage staff and participants to avoid the use of scented products, but we encourage people with scent sensitivities to contact us for more information at info@kiwassa.ca.
There is WiFi in use at Kiwassa Neighbourhood House, which may affect those with EMF sensitivities.
Variety Child Care & Out of School Care
There is an outdoor sandbox that accommodates a wheelchair. If you have questions about parking accessibility at Variety Child Care Centre, please contact loric@kiwassa.ca, or call 604-655-1873.
The main entrance and exit has an automatic door opener on the interior and exterior.
Harbour View Child Care Centre

Parking
There is free street parking available, with a small section near the entrance for drop-offs only. There is no curb, but the road and sidewalk are separated by gravel and a grassy area with tree roots. There is no designated wheelchair-accessible parking at this location.

Entrances & Exits
There is a level concrete pathway leading from the sidewalk to the front gate.
The main entrance is accessed by a keypad (4 feet off the ground), which unlocks the door. The code is given only to currently-enrolled families.
For those who need it, there are bells (about 3 feet off the ground) to call for assistance with opening the gate and opening the door to the main entrance.
Assistance is also available to exit through the main entrance and gate.

Harbour View Child Care Centre has a large, all-gender washroom for adult use.

There is a designated wheelchair-accessible parking space, with a curb ramp from the parking space to the sidewalk, and the main entrance.
There is free parking for pickups and drop-offs, as well as longer-term parking.
